Pain feels like a flow of empty white space, feeding into the idea of recreation. Despite the fact that both humans and animals share the pain of suffering, until this day neither has managed to define what pain is: what gives it its hidden nature?
Artist Maher Dawoud explores the relationship between pain and emptiness, by using white spaces in their primary form to render great value to this "emptiness" without depending on outside factors that usually give meaning to artistic composition.
The artist embarked on a journey to the Sinai Desert which led to contemplate on anxiety and the relationship of the desert's vast expanse leading him to imagine the desert as a space that reflects the flow of pain.
